New Name

The White Stone is an ancient ritual dating back to the time when Jesus was teaching. When someone served time in prison or in bondage of any kind, they were given a white stone when they were released. On this stone was a new name, a chance to begin again with a clean slate.
In Lessons in Truth there is a chapter, “Liberty or Bondage, Which?” We all make choices that often hold us in captivity. We have the power to let go of those limiting thoughts and turn to the Truth within us. You might say, we are being given a white stone through this power of this choice…a new name to signify our freedom.
The White Stone service we will experience Sunday, January 5, 2020, comes from Revelation 2:17. In Revelation, John talks about the people being given a new name. ‘Let anyone who has an ear (open to hearing the word of God), listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’ The churches were those people whose thoughts were turned towards God. ‘To everyone who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna’. In other words, to everyone who believes, and can see beyond the appearances, will receive all that is needed to live this human existence.
As a body of one in Spirit let us move into this new year choosing freedom. I envision great things for UCOL in 2020 because we are ‘Motivated by Love…Empowered by Spirit!
Blessings & Happy New Year!
